About Allen Narcisse
Allen Narcisse is the founder and CEO of Gigs, a marketplace that helps workers find hourly jobs in their neighborhoods. He has spent roughly 15 years building marketplace businesses, starting with eBuyLine, a platform connecting freelance journalists with publishers that he founded in 2009 and sold in 2015.
Before Gigs he was an operator at two of the defining marketplaces of the last decade. At Uber he helped build Uber Eats from cars delivering salads and sandwiches into a business that grew 45 times in two years. He then moved to Lyft, where he spent time with drivers to understand how earnings volatility affected their lives. He later served as COO at Workrise, the energy labor platform, before starting Gigs.
His operating focus is on the supply and demand dynamics of labor marketplaces and the experience of workers whose careers are not well served by traditional white-collar professional networks.
