About Dan Siroker
Dan Siroker is co-founder and CEO of Rewind, a personalized AI product that captures and indexes what a user sees, says, and hears on their Mac and iPhone, making it searchable and queryable. Before Rewind he co-founded and ran Optimizely, the experimentation and A/B testing platform.
Siroker's path to Rewind started with his own hearing loss in his twenties. Getting a hearing aid and recovering a lost sense convinced him that technology can be used to give people new capabilities, and he went looking for the next human limitation worth augmenting. He landed on memory, citing research that people forget roughly 90 percent of their experiences within a week and that memory typically peaks at twenty and declines from there. Rewind is his attempt to use AI as a personal memory layer on top of biological memory, answering questions like how you know someone or what was decided in a past meeting.
