Nitin Gupta is COO at Prisma, the company behind one of the most widely adopted open-source ORMs in the JavaScript and TypeScript ecosystem. Prisma sits between application developers and their databases, abstracting away SQL so engineers can write in their primary language while the ORM handles translation, migrations, and database portability.
At Prisma, Gupta runs the operating layer behind a globally distributed, technically deep team. He helped build Prisma University, the company's internal education program for knowledge sharing across engineering and non-engineering team members, and operationalized regular hackathons as a core part of how the company ships new ideas. Beyond the open-source ORM, Prisma has launched Accelerate and Pulse, two commercial products that extend the same data-layer abstraction into edge caching and real-time database events.
