About Valentin Gruber
Valentin Gruber is COO at HomeToGo, the Berlin-based vacation rental marketplace that went public via SPAC in 2021 at a $1.2B valuation and is incorporated in Luxembourg as a Societas Europaea. The company started roughly a decade ago as a meta-search platform for the fragmented vacation rental market, building on the founders' earlier experience with Swoodoo, a flight meta-search engine that was later sold to Kayak.
Gruber is known for guiding HomeToGo's evolution from a pure meta-search business into a full marketplace, then deeper into supply-side software for property managers, agencies, and private hosts. He focuses on M&A strategy, public company operations, and the technical and data tooling needed to support smaller market participants competing against larger OTAs. HomeToGo today combines the meta and marketplace models and operates an inventory of more than 15 million offers.
