About Diego Camberos
Diego Camberos is COO of Vodafone Qatar, where he led operational preparation for the surge of visitors associated with the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Before joining Vodafone he spent nine and a half years at Tigo Millicom, the Swedish-owned telecoms group, including CEO roles in Senegal and Rwanda. His career has spanned multiple continents, beginning with a stint at McDonald's in Bolivia after returning home from school in the United States.
Camberos's operating focus is on cross-cultural execution and what he calls radical simplification, the idea that local operations work best when stripped down to the essentials and aligned around a clear corporate culture. He emphasizes the importance of respecting local customs and adapting before arriving in a new country, while building a corporate culture strong enough to bridge the dozens of nationalities present in Vodafone Qatar's workforce.
