About Kate Henningsen
Kate Henningsen is co-founder and COO at Arcadia, a climate technology company working to bring energy data to innovative companies so they can build products that accelerate decarbonization. Arcadia targets one of the largest markets in the world, which still operates as a regulated monopoly where utilities receive guaranteed rates of return for the customers on their lines.
Kate came to the company from litigation, with her co-founder Kiran Bhatraju arriving from policy work on Capitol Hill. They used that legal and policy background as a wedge into a market most founders avoided. Arcadia's community solar business, started in 2018, has grown through state-level lobbying into the fastest-growing segment of solar in the country, growing faster than residential rooftop.
